Moments of Disbelief

I know how lucky we are. Every day I thank the universe for being so very good to us. But still, I occasionally get hit with moments of total disbelief - moments where my life is just really freaking surreal in how awesome it is and how lucky we are to have Moe.

Yesterday, when I bought a small pack of birthday candles at the grocery store, I had one of those moments.

I do, too. We're getting cupcakes from this place:

(They have to be egg free.)

I could have made it work!!! And no egg-whites in my icing, either.

P.S. Cupcakes seriously make me drool.

I have an impressive supply of bibs for those who drool. Let me know if you want me to hook you up.

As ever I’m so happy for you two, and Moe is one crazy lucky peanut.

I’ve been doing that recently, when I leave something up to Patrick and don’t micromanage him. To have a child who can problem solve, who can at least on a limited basis, be trusted to figure something out, is crazy. My boy isn’t little anymore, but the immerging teenager is no less awe-inspiring than the baby, the toddler, the preschooler, or the elementary kid.

Realizing that he’s his own person blows my mind.
